BFF Monthly Meeting Minutes - September 2008
The meeting was called to order at 4:21 PM by President-for-life Christine, also in attendance were Vice-President Dashiell, Security Officer Molly and Special Agent Bear.
The meeting begun with a formal welcome to Special Agent Bear - Deputy Dog in charge of park surviellence on temporary assignment to the office, formal hand sniffing was done all around.
President-for-life Christine then brought forward formal preceedings of a court martial against Security Officer Molly for the crime of dogslaughter against her "Doggy". The evidence was brought forth by a parental tribunal and although President-for-life Christine did not want to have to place the charges she had a recognized duty to do so.
A vote was held to proceed with the court martial and it was passed by a vote of 2-1 due the overwhelming evidence. As this is Security Officer Molly second reprimand in a short period of time she was relieved of duty without treats.
A motion was brought forward by Vice-President Dashiell that a collection of food scraps should begin for Molly, the motion was passed unanimously.
A motion was brought forward by President-for-life Christine to begin an expedition to the kitchen for acquisition of marshmallows for man and beast, the motion was passed unanimously.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:32 PM.
Marshmallows were consumed by all at 4:33 PM.
Note: Security Officer Molly was re-instated after a successful demonstration of her homeland secrity policies with regard to Jehovah Witnesses.Labels: BFF meeting
SMC Reunion - now with kids
Last weekend our good friends Mark and Tracy hosted a SMC boys reunion BBQ for the gang, their wives and kids. There were a total of eleven kids at the party and Christine at not-quite-three was the oldest - suffice it to say, it was a little hectic. We managed to get most of the kids in a group shot towards the end of the night - above from left to right are: Eric (could be his twin Owen, my apologies), his big brother Thomas, Timothy (his little brother Sam was in bed already so just imagine a littler version of him), our Saskatoonian Julia, the Dash Man, Christine holding Owen (or Eric?), Alex, his twin David and last but not least their baby sister Sarah.
As noted above we had two sets of twins at the party - here's a shot of David and Alex with their cool parents Mike and Vivian and baby sister Sarah (sorry, I forgot to get the name of the duck).
Our friends Dave and Karen now live in Saskatoon and this was their first visit to Toronto with their gorgeous daughter Julia - Dash has got his eyes out for her.
The other set of twins belong to our good friends Nick and Marsha (and big brother Thomas), little Eric and Owen are just 8 weeks old now and their parents are doing an amazing job with them. I going to take a wild guess that this is Owen - as long as Nick and Marsha can tell them apart is all that matters.
And finally some shots of my guys for their loyal fans - here's Dash running around the big basement hamming it up.
And Supergirl herself (her secret identity of Christine has now been revealed to all) in the basement putting on one of her famous "shows".
See You in September...
This past weekend we partied out the last weekend of the summer in style using up every sun soaked moment to the fullest. On Saturday Christine, Dash, Ben, Aunt Boo, Grandpa, Grandma and I crossed open water to visit Toronto's Centre Island for lunch, enjoying the beautiful surroundings and going on some rides. Christine was very brave and wanted to go on every ride that she could - here's a shot of her and Aunt Boo about to set off on her first roller coaster ride - her comment afterwards was awesome - "I scream Mommy, I scream loud"
Dash isn't quite up to roller coaster riding height yet but was in a happy easy-going mood all day (and made it through the day without injury - which is always a good day for him).
All of us rode the the carousel together - here's a shot of Christine and her trusty steed "Bullet" the fastest horse on the island.
And here's Dash and his Dad on his loyal horse "Chocolate" (Christine named him after her favourite food - what a gal).
And what would a day at an amusement park be without the requisite tea cup spinney ride? Nauseating for adults, a barrel of laughs for kids.
Sunday afternoon we hosted a barbeque for Uncle Geof, Aunt Brenda and of course Bear their dog (by the way - a dog named Bear is a hard concept for toddlers to grasp). We started off by having some backyard games. First off - was a good game of "Push me higher"...
After that we had a round of the classic game "Peek-a-boo pony rides...
And finished with some Festivus "Feats of Strengths".
All of that activity made us all hungry for dinner so we all enjoyed some yummy steak, veggies and apple crisp - as you can see below Aunt Brenda ate a whole lot!!!!
Okay - that was really mean, in reality Geof and Brenda are expecting their first baby in December and Brenda is proudly showing off her baby bump. We all very excited to have a cousin for Dash and Christine and can't wait to let Christine do some babysitting (she's a very responsible little kid)
And of course it wouldn't be a get together with Geof and Brenda without a foot race or two. Here's a shot of our participants at the starting line...
Oh no - we have two runners down...
And now another one of runners is being chase by a wild beast - due to the many unforeseen circumstances there was no clear winner today, hopefully a rematch is in the future.
