See You in September...

This past weekend we partied out the last weekend of the summer in style using up every sun soaked moment to the fullest. On Saturday Christine, Dash, Ben, Aunt Boo, Grandpa, Grandma and I crossed open water to visit Toronto's Centre Island for lunch, enjoying the beautiful surroundings and going on some rides. Christine was very brave and wanted to go on every ride that she could - here's a shot of her and Aunt Boo about to set off on her first roller coaster ride - her comment afterwards was awesome - "I scream Mommy, I scream loud"
Dash isn't quite up to roller coaster riding height yet but was in a happy easy-going mood all day (and made it through the day without injury - which is always a good day for him).
All of us rode the the carousel together - here's a shot of Christine and her trusty steed "Bullet" the fastest horse on the island.
And here's Dash and his Dad on his loyal horse "Chocolate" (Christine named him after her favourite food - what a gal).
And what would a day at an amusement park be without the requisite tea cup spinney ride? Nauseating for adults, a barrel of laughs for kids.Sunday afternoon we hosted a barbeque for Uncle Geof, Aunt Brenda and of course Bear their dog (by the way - a dog named Bear is a hard concept for toddlers to grasp). We started off by having some backyard games. First off - was a good game of "Push me higher"...After that we had a round of the classic game "Peek-a-boo pony rides...
And finished with some Festivus "Feats of Strengths".
All of that activity made us all hungry for dinner so we all enjoyed some yummy steak, veggies and apple crisp - as you can see below Aunt Brenda ate a whole lot!!!!Okay - that was really mean, in reality Geof and Brenda are expecting their first baby in December and Brenda is proudly showing off her baby bump. We all very excited to have a cousin for Dash and Christine and can't wait to let Christine do some babysitting (she's a very responsible little kid) And of course it wouldn't be a get together with Geof and Brenda without a foot race or two. Here's a shot of our participants at the starting line...Oh no - we have two runners down...And now another one of runners is being chase by a wild beast - due to the many unforeseen circumstances there was no clear winner today, hopefully a rematch is in the future.
