A Weekend of Celebrations

This past weekend was a busy one with us celebrating both some friend's birthdays and of course St. Patrick's Day. First of all, a great big Erin go bragh from Christine to all of her admirers.

Saturday morning Christine, Dashiell and I headed off to Oakville for a big birthday celebration for Ethan and his mom Myriah. Happy Birthday Ethan and Myriah! Christine had a great time playing at the indoor gym with Ethan, Olivia, Jerry, Michele and Truman, while Dashiell slept like an angel through the entire event. Here's a picture of Christine and I going down the slides together, I was having a great time - she was a little scared. Ben had gone to Buffalo to pick up his brother Pat at the airport and met up with us at the end of the party.

After the party we went to Grandpa's house to catch up with Pat. Pat has been in L.A. for the past month, so this was his first introduction to little Dashiell. They seemed to get along well, although as usual Pat likes to compete for attention with babies :). The following are some random pictures of our visit at Grandpa's house.

Here's a picture of Christine playing the piano - she's quite good at it and doesn't just bang away at the keys, but instead will play the same note over and over again in perfect rhythm (definitely does not get any musical ability from me).

Here's a picture of Christine playing with a toy gun, I think in honour of St. Paddy's day she was hoping to try out for the IRA (Do you have to audition for the IRA? Or do they let anyone who wants to risk their life in? Personally I think she's a little young).

And finally an updated picture of our little man Dashiell - one with his eyes open. He's now 19 days old and has gained all of his birth weight back - although he's keeping me up at night for hours and hours at a time, hopefully this phase will end soon.
